What is the difference between copyright and intellectual property rights?

Answer

Intellectual property rights include copyright, as well as a wider range of rights such as trade-marks, patents, or performance and recording rights. Effectively copyright is a sub-set of intellectual property rights. However, in some instances the term copyright is sometimes confused or substituted with the term intellectual property rights.
